Carving       Pyrography=burning art

Hi I'm Mr John Maloney.

I teach Woodwork and Craft.  In the woodwork room we work safely together, learn to try news things, and most importantly have fun!

This autumn students explored the Irish History of peatlands and bogs by working on bog oak and bog body projects.  We read about the ancient trees and people who have been found preserved  in nearby peatlands.

Check out the cool carvings and burnings done by the students of St. Brigid's!  The oak pendant above has a student's initials written in celtic ogham script!  You say it OHHHMMM!

Here in the woodwork room students are encouraged to try new skills and be creative!
